The 100 Best iPhone Photography Apps

  • Kateřina Petrová

Great list! Thx. I like also Lumibee and Darkroom.

    • Yes, there are so many good apps that a list of 10 will by definition have to exclude a few. Glad you found the list helpful!

    • Prince Caspian

Eric – give Stackables a shot. One of my faves. Create and save layered filters and there’s tons of presets to boot.
I also love Decim8, Glitché and Glaze, and Pixite’s Union is awesome for superimposing and layering.
I do a lot of abstract editing but these apps are great. Snapseed, Mextures, vsco– all great stuff too!

  • TianaCreation

I had Maternity Photography from TianaCreation in Los Angeles, and your apps help me out to edit them to post on my social profiles.
    Thanks for the great list.

  • NoneOfYourBusiness

Hmm, Camera+ was included as “An incredibly powerful camera app”, yet ProCam4 (by Samer Azzam), ProCamera (by Cocologics) and Camera++ (by Natalya Petrenko) were not? Wow. Camera+ doesn’t even have support for RAW and iPhone 7 Plus tele-lens, while 3 mentioned apps do have support for that. In Camera++ you can even now have all you manual settings saved in separate mode to reuse them later.

    • Thanks for the comment; I wish we could include every great app, but it’s hard to make everyone happy when you’re only selecting 10. I do use ProCamera, but haven’t tried the other two, so thanks for the heads up about those.

  • Kimberly Hooper

I have a few questions about a photo in one of your demos, could you email me? Photography.knh@gmail.com

  • Sun Morisson

    It’s good enough

  • wineybrett

    Thank you, a neat selection.

  • Sabina Hertzum

I just went in to get TouchRetouch – and got sucked in to a trap – by searching TouchRetouch the real app came up as no 1, but as no 2 there was an app called TouchRetouch +, that was a little more expensive- the photos and description was almost identical so believing I would get a pro app by getting the + one I paired and downloaded that one…
Only to discover that it was a total hoax!!! The app I got looked fine on my homescreen, but as I opened it I saw a bubblegum inspired app called Photo effects…

So don’t get duped!! I’m contacting apple in the morning to get my money back, and I wrote an angry review – that’s all I can do – besides warning you…

    • Oh no, sorry to hear that. Hope you get a refund. The link to the TouchRetouch app in this article will take you to the correct app on the App Store.

  • No Lightroom? Serious?

    • I believe that it is a new list by the way.

    • gemima

      yep, they seem pretty serious.

    • Fine, but the serious photographer uses already Lighroom. It should be in this list. Period.

  • James Goldstein

how can I take a raw photo & transfer it to my desktop to open in Lightroom. So far everything I try changes it to jpg. I do not have the lightroom subscription. I think it is lightroom 5. Thank you.

  • Why no mention of ProShot?

  • “Superimpose” is really awesome.

  • Aydin Fotouhi (ayaffo)

    Why no mention of Filmborn?

  • BeckyBalboaBaby

    How about PS Touch?

  • Carol

  • Really great informative information. Already i used VSCO app also get more from here.

  • TBT

Best apps missing and a list full of crap.

  • This is great! A lot of phone photo apps now also have this capability. Instagram’s selective focus mode can, with a little experimentation, give decent tilt/shift results as well.

  • Ginny Saunders

I know this is to edit photos taken with your iPhone, but can you do the editing on your pc once you’ve transferred them? I need to see the photos in large form …. not small like on the iPhone.
