Thank you for participating in this weekly iPhone photography contest. This week the contest theme was empty space, and any photos where empty space takes up a large section of the photo could be submitted. With over 350 excellent submissions, it wasn’t easy to select the winners, but here are my personal favorites this week.

How to Enter the Next Photo Contest
People often asked me what separates good photos from excellent ones. And while there is no easy answer to that question, I can tell you that some of the most powerful photos in the world tell a great story.
Telling a compelling story with your photos is easier said than done, so to help you do that I decided to share with you this lecture on storytelling.
This lecture is one of the 50+ videos in my iPhone Photo Academy training program.
So the new contest theme is stories, and any photos that create a story in the mind of the viewer can be submitted.
To participate, simply tag your photos using IPSStory tag on EyeEm. You can tag photos in the description field when you upload them, or when you edit the description of a photo that has already been uploaded (tap the three dots icon to edit a photo).
All photos must be shot and edited on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Please upload photos to EyeEm in full resolution and without any watermarks to make sure I can feature them on the website. Please do not submit more than 10 photos each week.
The submission deadline is Sunday, July 20.

The entries this week were great, and I had a lot of fun participating! My personal favorites from the photos you chose Emil were the ones by @yarmenitis (the texture and symmetry of the paving stones broken by the legs and feet was stunning. I also loved the seascape by @stellaoliver18, it was a great example, and you can feel the tumultuous power of the storm on the horizon. And I loved the entry by @michal_koralewski. I also follow this photographer on Flickr and love his work. For me, his photo was the best example of empty space this week.
I liked the video you posted also, some really good pointers and examples.
Happy shooting to all the photographers!
