The New Contest
The new contest theme is sun and the new contest tag is #IPSSun.
While sunset photos would fit this theme perfectly, feel free to interpret this topic as broadly as you wish. In general, any photo in which you can see the sun (or the effects of the sun) will be appropriate for this week’s contest. If you want some advice on how to shoot stunning sunset photos, check out my latest tutorial for INK361.
To participate tag your best sun photos using #IPSSun tag on Instagram. Your Instagram must be public or I won’t be able to see your photos. It’s OK to submit old photos as well as new ones, but please only submit your very best work. All photos must be shot and edited on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Please do not submit photos with large watermarks.
The winners will be featured on this blog and on my Instagram on Monday, September 23.

Hey Emil! These are all so beautiful! I have a question though. Have you ever tried blowing up your iPhone photos of people and printing them? And if so, do they look good? I have a family that wants to do a photoshoot and I’m not sure how they would look. Thanks!

Nope, I haven’t tried that, but I’ve got a pretty good idea about the quality of iPhone photos since I have a Retina MacBook Pro. In general, this will work if there’s plenty of light, but not in moderate to low light.
However, you also don’t want to shoot in direct sunlight, but it would probably work well on a cloudy day or in the shadow on sunny day. Of course, you still can’t expect DSLR quality from your iPhone.
